Comments

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We keep contact form submissions for up to five years for customer service purposes. We may use the information submitted through them for Prōtëkt® marketing purposes without prior consent from the user.

Our store uses the WooCommerce platform and we collect information about you through their service during the shopping process on our store. When using a payment gateway, as we do, we are not sharing this information with WooCommerce.com.

MailChimp for WooCommerce

We utilize MailChimp’s platform. When shopping, MailChimp will keep a record of your email and the cart contents for up to 30 days on our server. Data Used: For payments with PayPal or Stripe: purchase total, currency, billing information. For taxes: the value of goods in the cart, value of shipping, destination address. For shipping labels: customer’s name, address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products.

Data Synced (?): For payments, we send the purchase total, currency and customer’s billing information to the respective payment processor. For automated taxes we send the value of goods in the cart, the value of shipping, and the destination address to TaxJar. Please see TaxJar’s Privacy Policy for details about how they handle this information. For checkout rates we send the destination ZIP/postal code and purchased product dimensions, weight and quantities to USPS or Canada Post, depending on the service used. For shipping labels we send the customer’s name, address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products to EasyPost. We also store the purchased shipping labels on our server to make it easy to reprint them and handle support requests.

Who on our team has access

A limited number of members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

How we protect your data

Security

We take your privacy seriously and take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via our website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Whenever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way, e.g., via PayPal and our site’s Secured Sockets Layer (SSL). That sensitive information is not provided to us and we do not see nor keep records of credit card numbers, banking information or other sensitive payment data from our customers. Users who request manual assistance with orders may provide that information to Protekt Worldwide, LLC voluntarily. Information collected in these cases will be entered/applied to our systems using the same security precautions as those done online. All sensitive financial data supplied for a manual purchase process is removed immediately upon completion of the order and no physical records are kept.

We have a current SSL Certificate which ensures your information is secure on our site. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon on the top left of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page. The third-party providers that we share data with are also set to require two-factor authentication and carry current SSL Certificates.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only team members who need the information to perform a specific job or task (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
